History: As far as you know the Order was founded by the One, shortly after the raise of magic and the first misuse of it by mislead minds. This was about 50 years ago. Since those days they had three major incidents which required their full attention. Nobody ever speaks with you about it, and it seems whatever happened is still classified.

Hierarchy: The order within the order is well designed. There are three different ranks below the One who is in charge of everything and everybody. Within one rank all members are equal. The members of higher ranks have power over those on lower ranks. But using their power is not something they do very often. It is just very suitable for important missions to maintain a chain of command.
Fraternity is desired between the members of one rank.

Guardian: They guard one of seven higher values, love, peace, justice, truth, nature, freedom or life. Of course every member of the order should pay attention to all those values like he would be the guardian. But it is among the duties of the guardian to remind the other members of the order that they should treat this values with respect.
The guardians are those who watch the mundane world for changes caused by evil. They study, record and analyse those changes and make suggestions to the group during the Gathering. Guardians are free to take appropriate action against evil doers who are a threat to the value the guardian should protect.

Defender: Above the Guardians stand the Defenders. There are only five of them. They are linked to the elements, Earth, Water, Wind, Fire and Light. They receive very much power from their linked element so that the element itself has power over them and influences their feelings and actions. While Earth is calm, strong and mighty, fire is aggressive, tends to destruction and is hard to control. This is why some of the defenders fight an ongoing war within themselves to keep control over the power inside.
The defenders receive their great powers directly from the metaplanes. There seemed to be a link that connects them and makes them strong.
Most of their time the defenders spend on their metaplane watching for changes, and recording them. They are very familiar with how the planes work and try to reveal more of their secrets every day.

Protector: Closest to the One in hierarchy are the Protectors. There are only three of them and they protect the past, the present and the future. They seemed to be the only ones who completely understand what is going on. They know about all the classified stuff and many more secrets than everybody else. They speak almost nothing with other members they travel the world and the metaplanes in a similar matter. They spend much time in studying old books, gathering knowledge and so on. They finally have to decide if a threat is serious enough to be fought.
There is rumor among the other members that the Protectors know of secret groups and hidden places on the metaplanes that could be a threat and watch them closely.
They are linked to different times. The protector of the past studies events in the past tries to gather information about ancient artifacts and decide if events in the past are results of greater evil.
The Protector of the Present is responsible to keep record about everything that goes on, mighty magic artifacts that are created and destroyed he has to watch about everything that goes on and stays in close contact with the guardians. The Protector of the Future has to find clues and hints about events yet to come. He watches the metaplanes very closely and stays in touch with the Defenders.

The One: The identity of the One is unknown to you and to most of the other Guardians. You don’t even now if it is a male or female. The only thing that sounds reasonable is that he/she must be over 65 years old, since he/she founded the order 50 years ago.

Rules: The members of the order have certain rules they life by. The two most important things are: Every member of the order has to respect the values they try to defend and life according to this values. Of course this is not a problem to the member because they are pure in mind and heart. This means not to kill people whenever you can avoid it. Never let hate, anger, fear, or the desire for revenge control your actions. Respect nature and other peoples rights, freedom and life.
The second rule is to keep the existence of the order secret. At all coast. Nobody ever revealed the existence to an outsider without allowance not under torture or with other tricks.
Everybody has to swear an oath to follow this rules - forever.
Everybody has to write a thesis about his life and his achievements. The thesis is property of the order and a copy of it is with the order at all times.
The order gathers four times a year on the four magic days for the Gathering.
No member is allowed to be member of another magic group but it is allowed to participate in other groups rituals.

Benefits: The group seemed to be well founded and there is no lack in money. The headquarter is the gorgeous Cheverny castle in the Loire Valley in western France.

Officially the castle is an elite academy, with a great library and scientific meetings four times a year for the members of the academy. The name of the academy is Time Foundation.
The order has high security measures at his headquarter. Most of the Defenders are usually in France. The headquarter is equipped with a huge library that covers all needs, and needs you don’t think off. There are rooms for mighty rituals and places for shamans.
They maintain libraries and alchemistic laboratories all over the world. There is no such place in Seattle. But you are free to create one.
Every member wears a ring. There are 7 rings for the guardians 5 for the defenders and 3 for the protectors and logic demands that there is one ring for the One, (who rules them all).
It is expected that every ring bearer adds one ability to the ring he owns.

Customs: Every new member of the group abandonds his past name and picks a new one. A spiritual name. From now on he will be known to the world by his spiritual name. The members of the group only know this name. It is a symbol. Only the present and the future are of importance. Deeds in the past, good or evil don't count from now on.

Members:
Protector of the Past: Arn Lashida. He is an Elf. It is impossible to tell his age, but you can see the wisdom of centuries in his eyes. His hair is silver gray and long. He is surrounded by an aura of knowledge and wisdom. He is properbly the most expirienced and most powerfull member of the group. It appears that he knows everything there is to know and many things that are unknown to mankind. He doesn't speak very much. He spends most of his time studying or educating people.
He is a very skilled scholar and teacher. Obviously he has mastered every skill to absolute perfection.

Protector of the Present: Muhall Dashai. He is a mid aged human. He looks average in every way you can look at a person. There is know chance that you would pick him from a crowd of two. He is an everybody or nobody however you like it. There is nothing you can really they about him. His eyecolor is somewhere between blue, green and grey, his hair is not brown, not black not blond nor grey. Its not long, not short.
He is traveling the world and seems to know every person and every place. Obviously he doesn't spend very much time in training his magical abilities and therefore he cant be a very powerfull mage but this could be wrong.

Protector of the Future: Liza Elesia. She also is an elf. And she is beautiful like - well there is no real comparison possible. She simply is beautiful. She spends most of her time on the metaplanes. As a matter of fact she is very familiar with all the planes and knows them like Muhall knows the world. Since time works in a diffrent way on the metaplanes it is not really possible to say how many days she already lifed. Her magic is strong and her primary ability is to read the future. She knows diffrent techniques but the one she uses the most is a form of deep meditation. Some people believe that she can send her aura on a journey to the future like others send it to the astral plane.
From all members of the order, Liza has the best conection to the One.

Defender of Earth: Sha Mhu. He is a human in his late thirties. The element lives in him like it lives in all the defenders. He is not very tall, but wide and strong. He looks more like a human sized dwarf than a human. His eyes are deep brown and look infinit patient and calm. One can sense the imense power he controls. Obviously without problems. The aura of peace and patients also extends arround him and has impact on those nearby.
As the Defender of Earth, he spends much time on the metaplane of earth studying the developments of the world. In his spare time he likes to go hiking. Of course he prefers the mountains.
Defender of Fire: Darius Tarsow. He is an older human. Most likely a russian guy but like all the others he doesn't speak very much about his past. He must be slightly older than 50. He seemed to be highly concentrated and focused all the time. Obviously he is fighting hard to controll the uncontrolable. That must be the reason why he spends very much time meditating and and travelling the metaplanes.

Defender of Air: Lyra Hossian. She is the second or third woman in the order. Depending on the sex of the One. Obviously it is almost impossible to look better than Liza but Lyra does a good job. Like Liza she is an elf and very skilled in the beautifull arts like, drawing, painting, singing, dancing and playing instruments. In her spare time she likes to create beautiful magic itmes. But her major job is to watch over the metaplane of air. But it seems she isn't paying very mauch attention to this duty. Most of her time she does things that she likes and everybody else would call entertainment.
She likes expensive restaurants with outstanding food, prefers to visit the shows of great artists and so on.
Whereever she goes, she blows away peoples sorrows and sad feelings.

Defender of Water: Maloi Szechian. He also is a human. But he is one of those guys, where you impossibly can tell how old he is. He spends most of his spare time swimming or taking walks in the rain. In deed you never watchted him outside when the sun was shining. He usually spends really sunny days on the metaplanes of water.
He also is a hobby gardner and takes good care of the castles spice plants.
For some reason he also seems to have the ability of breathing under water.

Defender of Light: Eloire Sun. At least the third woman in the group and an elf too. You can't simply say that she is beautiful or not. In deed there are some really nice thins in the way she looks but otherwise it hurts if you watch her to long.
There are many mysteries surrounding her. It begins with the element of light. According to all your knowledge there is no element of light and no metaplane linked to it, since light is no hermetic element. Only some unimportant asian mages believe that there is a element of light. But this would require that there are elementals of light that could be summond. But as far as you know this never happend.
So the first question you asked yourself is: What is she doing all day long? And indeed you didn't find an answer yet.

Guardian of Love: Maria Love. Of course the Guardian of Love is a woman too. Not an elf this time but at least female. She has a lot of fighting spirit, and is really convinced from her mission. As a matter of fact she is an absolute pacifist and hates killing. She shares the opinions of the other Guardians in many ways and always tries to motivate them to do a better job in bringing peace, justice and freedom to mankind and protecting life, nature and truth.
Maria has founded a lot of other non magical groups of mundane people who bring the word of Love to the people.

Guardian of Life: Sen Selai. He is human with asian heritage. Obviously. Despite his magic abilities he is a very good lawer and fights the death penalty all over the world. He is an important participant in a lot of difrent organisations who fight for the rights of people, like Amnesty International and so on.

Guardian of Peace: Josef Debar. He is an older human, most likely older than 60. He is an outstanding speaker and when he speaks about peace you really believe that it is possible. And this is all that he talks about.
What he mainly does is to travel the world and go whereever war is, and a peaceful solution seems to be impossible. There he talks to the evil minded leaders and convinces them from the one true path. And when he speaks to the crowd...
There is no other way. You have to believe in peace.

Guardian of Justice: Roger Uno. Like the Guardian of Life he as human and a great lawer. In deed he is a judge. Not in the UCAS but in France. He has a world wide network consisting of other judges. The review case files in there spare time and use magic to figure out the truth. Than they free people who are not guilty and take care of those who are guilty. They never talk about the penalty for beeing guilty.

Guardian of Freedom: Wack. He is the only non human or elf. In the group. In deed he is an ork. He only shows up in France for the Gathering. The rest of the time he spends fighting. He is an outstanding mercenary. He has a great sense for combat and an unbelievable fighting spirit. Actually he is fighting for the freedom of Yucatan.
Even with all the tolerance in the group, you feel not all members like Wack like they like other non ork members. But everybody admires his combat skills, his power and his desire for freedom. Nobody really knows about his powers but there are many roumors about things he did. Some say he is fast as lightning and can dodge every bullet you may fire at him, others believe he has the power of regeneration and cannot be killed with weapons you may think of.
